What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let the site remember language, sign-in state, an anonymous device identifier, and some interface state.
Our position on cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell any cookie-derived data.
Cookies we set
- Locale (
PARAGLIDE_LOCALE) — remembers whether you chose English or 中文 and expires after one year. - Session — set by the authentication system after you create an account and sign in. It maintains and protects the session; expiry follows the authentication settings.
- Anonymous device identifier (
anon_device_id) — a random identifier required for anonymous editing and valid for one year. The cookie does not contain a balance; existing anonymous balances and usage are stored in the server database. New anonymous devices receive no free credits. If you have an existing anonymous balance, signing in in the same browser lets us transfer it to your account once and prevent duplicate transfers. This does not grant new credits. - Interface state — for example, whether the admin sidebar is open. It is used only to restore interface preferences.
Third-party services
Anonymous editing uses Cloudflare Turnstile for human verification. Administrators can also enable analytics, advertising, or customer-support components. When enabled, those third parties may set cookies or other identifiers under their own policies. We do not sell data derived from cookies.
Analytics
If analytics are enabled for this deployment, the browser communicates with the analytics service configured by the administrator. Collection and cookie behavior depend on the enabled service; consult that provider's privacy policy as well.
Images are not stored in cookies
Uploaded images and edited results are not written into cookies. Images may be sent to third-party generation and safety providers and retained under their policies. We do not promise immediate permanent deletion after processing. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
Controlling cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking
anon_device_id prevents anonymous edits from being submitted, and blocking authentication
cookies prevents the site from maintaining a signed-in session. Deleting the anonymous
device cookie does not restore credits already consumed in the server-side quota system.
Most browsers expose this under Settings → Privacy → Cookies and site data.
Changes to this policy
If the set of cookies changes, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be announced on the site.
